Our Volunteer Guide, with a description of different volunteer activities, will be available soon both online and as a download. Until then, fill out the volunteer form below, and we'll contact you to find the right activity for you or your group.
More than 13,000 individuals will depend on Inter-Faith Ministries' Operation Holiday for food, warm clothing, grocery gift cards and children's gifts through the Toys for Tots program. We need volunteers who can work in the office for a day, morning or afternoon answering the phone and doing some light clerical work during the Operation Holiday season.
It isn't too early to start making plans for your Operation Holiday collection drive. Church, company, neighborhood drives are great fun and a great way to collect needed items. Have a Christmas in July theme, a karaoke contest, an all-peanut butter drive...be creative, be fun, be successful!
More than 7,000 volunteer hours help make Operation Holiday a success each year. Volunteers to take applications, help organize the warehouse, sort coats, sort food, and help with distribution.
It isn't technically a volunteer activity, but it is a great way to gain experience, perform a variety of activities and make a difference.
Inter-Faith Ministries is seeking a Content and Online Communications VISTA Fellow to develop and build our website and social media programs. Additional responsibilities will be some grant writing, development of a calendar for IFM and partner organizations, and development of metrics analysis. This is an excellent position for a recent college graduate. Lots of practical experience, more responsibility than typical in an entry level position, and a living allowance plus educational stipend at the end of your year of service.
VISTA is an Americorps program. Fellows receive a modest living allowance and either a stipend or education allowance at the end of their service. VISTA Fellows are dedicated to bringing communities out of poverty by building the financial and administrative effectiveness of organizations dedicated to fighting poverty.
If you know someone who might be interested in serving they can contact Carolyn Kell at Inter-Faith Ministries or go to the Americorps website to find out more about the VISTA program.
